Due to the COVID 19, it’s been not only a huge crisis to our health, but also damaged the nature. In view of this, Jumbo Leisure Sports Club organized an activity, named “Environmental Hiking Day” to encourage our staff to do more sports, but also to contribute to the environment protection by cleaning up the garbage along the way.
After discussion, the route for hiking was from Leung King (Tuen Mun),through Leung Tin Au Valley, to Ha Pak Nai, 7.7km in total, which was the most appropriate for the 22 participants. On 31 Jan 2021, it was absolutely a good day for hiking. According to follow with the government guidance of‘Social Gathering Ban’, several teams were grouped up to present the spirit of Jumbo, which to support and take care of each other, so as to complete the activity smoothly.
The natural view was so eye-catching along the way. we took a break when we arrived at Ha Pak Nai, then we brought the tongs with garbage bags to clean up the garbage on the seashore. With our hard working in more than an hour, nearly 20 bags of garbage were collected, which was placed in the garbage collection bin.
20 bags of garbage looked like a lot, but actually it was just a tip of iceberg by the garbage pollution in the nature. We do hope that it can call on everyone to make efforts on environmental saving by garbage disposal on our own while outings. As long as we protect the environment well, we can keep enjoying its beauty.
Lastly, we’d love to send our appreciation for the participants to complete the activity successfully.
